Stephen Rice, Founding Partner
Stephen Rice is an entrepreneur and business strategist with significant experience in commercialisation, innovation, emerging and disruptive technologies as well as online businesses and eCommerce. He is the recipient of an Australian DesignMark Award for designing and developing an integrated range of business management software solutions.
Stephen is an Expert Network member of the Accelerating Commercialization panel – AusIndustry’s Entrepreneurs’ Infrastructure Program; a founding member of eGroup Association, and a Principal of ANZ Business Partners – a trans-Tasman investment and corporate advisory group.
He is Chairman of Global Mind Screen (health IT), Chairman of BioRefinery Developments (bio-energy, bio-products) and is a Board member of several private companies.
Stephen was the corporate and strategic advisor to the founders of Spookfish Ltd. He became the inaugural Chairman of the private company; facilitated the backdoor listing and RTO of Whitestar Resources and became the inaugural CEO of Spookfish Limited (ASX:SFI) following its listing on the ASX.

Seamus Woulfe, Founding Partner
Seamus Woulfe graduated from Dublin City University with a B.E.(Hons) in Electronic Engineering, and has a post graduate diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK.
Seamus has over thirty years’ experience in technology industries including Information & Communications Technology, Defence, Aerospace, Industrials and Contract Manufacturing.
Seamus has grown and run international businesses and accounts to several hundred million dollars in annual revenues. He has worked with Global Tier 1 Technology companies including Sanmina, SCI, Moog, Nortel, Nokia and Westinghouse. Seamus’s experience has been derived across the full spectrum of roles in Technology businesses. This has included R&D, Engineering Management, Quality Assurance Management, Manufacturing Management, Sales and Account Management, with responsibilities through to Managing Director and VP levels.
In the last ten years Seamus has largely worked with start-up businesses advising on strategy, business development and commercialisation.

Paul Lowry, Partner
His operating background is in the creation and management of high velocity growth and profit improvement through aggressive planning, local and overseas market penetration, partnering arrangements and acquisition.
Paul has over thirty five years experience in engineering, marketing, management and finance including transacting business globally and working with a wide range of technologies, customers and business cultures.
He specialises in driving business and market planning, strategic planning, financial analysis, change management, restructuring and organisational alignment. He combines this with identifying capital requirements and sourcing the right capital with the right outlook and the right timeframe.
Over the last eight years, Paul has guided a number of businesses through the journey from early stage commercialisation to market success and transformational financial outcomes.

Neil Speakman, Associate Partner
He has established, funded and advised a number of emerging technology companies and maintains powerful connections worldwide, including the People’s Republic of China where he has been deeply involved with government leaders and state owned companies since 1973.
After graduating from University of Melbourne and then qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PWC, he joined Morgan Grenfell and Co. in London and then Ord Minett in Hong Kong. Neil subsequently founded and managed a successful accountancy practice in Hong Kong, with worldwide clientele.
Neil then founded Advanced Material Resources Limited in conjunction with the State Council Rare Earth Office, China National Nuclear Corporation and other State owned corporations. AMR became Neo Material Technologies, a leading rare earth company.
Neil has also been actively involved in commercialising technologies from Imperial College, Brunel University and other leading UK institutions.
He continues to invest in and advise a wide range of companies.
Kari Kostamo, Associate Partner
Kari Kostamo is a Finnish born entrepreneur, investor and business executive with extensive senior management experience in large multinational enterprises, start-up companies and early stage technology firms.
In the early part of Kari’s career he worked in management and executive roles in companies including ABP, Kemira Grow How, Danisco (formerly known as Suomen Sokeri) and most extensively at Nokia. Kari’s experience was gained in areas including IT, Management accounting, Finance, Business Planning & Control, Human Resources and Business process improvement. Kari also held senior management roles within Nokia’s Country management and Regional management organisations.
After 20 years in the global corporate world which involved extensive travelling, Kari relocated to Australia and focused on establishing and growing start-up companies and early stage businesses in the areas of animal health, ICT, microbiology research, software and consumer ware imports.
Kari is currently both an investor and board member involving a number of young, successful companies both in Australia and Finland and he divides his time between Sydney and Helsinki.

James Wynn, Associate Partner
James is a Chartered Accountant having been a Price Waterhouse Scholar. After working for four years at Price Waterhouse, James spent ten years as an investment banker working for Rothschild Australia Limited, BZW and KPMG Corporate Finance. During that time James was a member of the ASX market liaison committee, secretary of the Rothschild Investment and Underwriting Committee and Chairman of JABACC, a venture of the Australian British Chamber of Commerce.
James specialised in Financial Services, Telecommunications and Utilities, Media, Technology and Entertainment and has vast experience in Resources and Mining.
James undertook a Masters in Management at the MGSM in 2000 and commenced his corporate career in 2001 as Group Financial Controller of renewable energy company Novera Energy prior to listing. He took Novera Energy through the IPO process. He was CFO of Parnell Pharmaceuticals Group, from 2004, in the pre-listing phase in preparation for external capital raising. James left Parnell to join Portland Orthopaedics in 2007 where he was CFO and Company Secretary overseeing capital raisings, Rights Issues and an SPP raising.
James has extended his areas of expertise to include Energy and Emerging Technologies and Life Sciences.
James is a Member of the Institute of Management Consultants in both Australia and the US, a Member of the Australian Institute of Management and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
